SUPER and God Bless America

This review probably doesn't make much sense and is plagued with mistakes... I wrote it fast just to have something in the "English" tag of the blog.
Looking at the recent events in Colorado (I suppose you have heard of the murderer who shot around 60 people in a movie theater), and having into account that this is not the first time (neither the 2nd 3rd or 4th) that happens, it would be reasonable to think that americans are really crazy and violent people. And then you look at their TV shows, their wars, the kind of music that is most popular and you might get caught into this feeling that probably something should be done. And what to do? RESPOND WITH MORE VIOLENCE OF COURSE!
Well, this seems to be the message of the 2 movies in our short review: America is disgusting, let's start killing all those bastards that represent the lost of morality and intelligence in our society. So they movie revolves around killing criminals, reality-show hosts and actors, politicians, etc. Basically, you do something wrong, you get killed.
It is important to note that, although americans are the most representative of this particular type of decadence, the truth is that all the world is suffering from similar problems. New generations are everyday more idiotized by the media, and in general they don't seem to think by themselves (something that the older generations maybe also didn't, but that seems to get worse with the growing access to cheap, shallow entertainment).
Being that said it could seem like I didn't like these movies. The truth is, I enjoyed them A LOT. For the most part they portray the situation in a very funny way, the roles are performed very well (specially Joel Murray in G.B.A. and Ellen Page in SUPER) and they are so full of ridiculous but absolutely real examples of our society's decadence that one can't help to admit that they are at least correct in WHAT IS WRONG (but certainly not in HOW TO FIX IT).
SUPER must be seen from the perspective of the main character (self-appointed hero The Crimson Bolt), otherwise it might look like the director is trying to convince us that Jesus wants you to go around in red spandex smashing criminal's heads. The main character is a looser in probably every sense that gets dumped by his wife and decides to go on a crime-fighting crusade to get her back.
G.B.A. instead takes a "safer" approach: I lost my job, my daughter doesn't like me and acts like a little incarnation of the antichrist and now my neurologist (who is a selfish, egocentric, shallow bastard) tells me I'm about today. I'm going, yes, but I'll take at least some scumbags with me. In both cases, our protagonists are supported in their noble campaign by maniac female teenagers who actually take control of most of the situation, confirming that behind every great man there is a great woman.
